THAI 1110 - Elementary Thai I Culture based approach to increased language proficiency. Students continue to develop listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills as they study diverse history and customs of Thai speakers.
Credit Hours: 4 General Education Code: 2CP Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The student will acquire knowledge of culture and geographical information of the country in which the target language is spoken.
- The student will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the Thai writing system, basic sentence structure and vocabulary related to nationality, numbers, time, days, family and occupations and practical adjectives.
- The student will be able to know how to greet others and introduce him or herself, as well as say goodbye according to the circumstances.
