RFM 2040 - Digital Means of Fashion Communication


This course surveys diverse methods of digital fashion presentation. A particular emphasis is placed on industry standard graphic software and the world wide web. Students develop their capabilities in digital communication and graphic software to prepare careers in the fashion and retail industries.

Requisites: RFPD 1500 and RFPD major
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture, 2.0 laboratory
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:  

  • Students will be able to distinguish between a variety of digital software programs including Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate basic knowledge and skills in the industry standard software.
  • Students will be able to apply the industry standard software to express/share fashion information with a variety of audiences.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate the aethetics and functions of digital presentations.
  • Students will be able to communicate their ideas through digital visuals in a concise and clear manner.
  • Students will be able to articulate the importance of technologies as an outlet of fashion and retail career opportunities.
  • Students will be able to build a career oriented, personal portfolio through digital means of communication.
