EDCT 7011 - Philosophy of Instructional Technology Explores the philosophy of technology with special emphasis on instructional technology and design. Discusses philosophical and historical interpretations of modern technology with the goal of deepening our understanding of the relationship between technology, society and education.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 seminar Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Learners will become conversant in the philosophical tradition regarding technology (Plato, Aristotle, Bacon, Dewey, Ellul, etc.)
- Learners will begin to see instructional technology from a larger, philosophical perspective.
- Learners will explore integrating and framing instructional technology inquiry through a philosophical lens.
