EDCT 7032 - Research Literature in Instructional Technology Introduces doctoral students to current and historical research in instructional technology and appropriate research methods in the field. Designed to introduce some of the important research in the field of instructional technology while also understanding a variety of research methods appropriate for exploring questions.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will apply APA style (current edition ) in writing research studies in the field of education.
- Students will be introduced to criteria for evaluating research studies.
- Students will be introduced to various research methodologies including quantitative, qualitative, descriptive, meta-analysis, evaluation, and historical.
- Students will become familiar with the primary research journals in the field of instructional technology.
- Students will briefly learn about the historical research foundations in instructional technology.
- Students will read current research studies in the field and apply criteria to evaluate the studies.
