EDHE 7820 - Effective Curriculum Development and Teaching Practices in American Higher Education

This course includes a critical study of factors, theories, and practices involved in the development of higher education curriculum and teaching. The creation, implementation, and revision of programs, courses, and classes are discussed and related to effective teaching and learning in different settings.

Requisites:
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 lecture
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to identify and apply principles of backward design.
  • Students will be able to conceptualize, write, and critique learning outcomes.
  • Students will be able to identify their strengths to leverage and growth areas to improve as educators in college settings.
  • Students will be able to analyze and apply key scholarship on effective college teaching.
