EDTE 7920 - Curriculum and Instruction Practicum Extended, supervised experience in a classroom or other educational setting for a) active engagement in curriculum and instruction and/or teaching and learning processes, b) systematic documentation and analysis of curriculum and/or instructional processes and/or curriculum change and/or instructional change initiatives, c) application of an action inquiry framework to guide active participant-observation, and d) presentation of poster at Research and Creative Activity Event and/or preparation of a manuscript to be submitted for publication.
Requisites: EDTE 7150 and 7160 Credit Hours: 1 - 6 Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 12.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 practicum Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Advanced degree students will adopt an action inquiry framework to provide systematic documentation and analysis of curriculum and/or instructional processes.
- Advanced degree students will compare extant literature on particular instructional approaches of interest with systematic observation of the approach in a classroom or other educational setting.
- Advanced degree students will produce a product and/or secure a venue for dissemination in order that findings and outcomes of practicum experiences may be shared with relevant audiences.
- Advanced degree students will theorize alternative curricula on basis of explicit and implicit assumptions about intended student learning outcomes.
