GEOL 5550 - Limnogeology Geological aspects of ancient lake environments. Topics in lake models, geochemistry, sedimentology, and stratigraphy are selected from current literature for presentations and discussions.

- Learn how to read and critically analyze scientific papers.
- Learn how to write summaries and concepts through analyzing scientific papers.
- Learn the different tectonic situations that produce lake basins and how this affects sedimentation patterns in the resultant lakes.
- Understand that scientific conclusions must be backed by good evidence.
