COMM 5250 - Virtual Reality: Project Development In this course, students identify societal issues that can be addressed with immersive media technologies (virtual reality and/or augmented reality). Students develop project-based solutions to these problems and design ways to implement these projects. Special emphasis is placed on team building and client-based research. The research from this class is then utilized in COMM 4250 the following semester.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to communicate effectively with clients to discuss societal issues that can be addressed with immersive media technologies.
- Students will be able to recognize and define problems that can be addressed with virtual reality technologies.
- Students will be able to develop, analyze, and critique solutions to problems that can be addressed with virtual reality technologies.
- Students will be able to develop team-based solutions to production, design, and distribution problems associated with immersive media projects.
- Students will be able to create a production plan and assessment strategy for immersive media projects.
