AVN 4400 - Flight Instructor Ground School FAA mandated ground instruction on FAA regulations and publications, weather, advanced flight computer operations, radio navigation, advanced aircraft and engine performance, and fundamentals of instructing. Covers requirements for FAA Fundamentals of Instructing Knowledge Test and Flight Instructor Airplane Knowledge Test.
Requisites: AVN 3500 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to explain human behavior traits related to the learning process.
- Students will be able to demonstrate effective communication techniques as they relate to instructor/student interactions.
- Students will be able to prepare aviation-related lesson plans and be able to discuss assessment of student understanding.
- Students will be able to provide examples of teaching techniques as they relate to flight instruction.
- Students will be able to evaluate testing methods related to aviation curriculum.
