WGSS 4110 - Women and Globalization Explores how globalization has affected the social status of women, their economic resources, their rights, and their opportunities. Focus is on the economic effects of the spread of free market capitalism.
Requisites: WGSS 1000 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 seminar Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will explore the relationship between globalization and local, national, and international economics.
- Students will gain an understanding of the impact of sex trafficking on women’s lives and its relationship to gender in general.
- Students will gain an understanding of the relationship between globalization and the social status of women.
- Students will gain an understanding of women’s health issues.
- Students will learn to think globally.
