ENGT 1170 - Metal Machining I

Basic operation and capabilities of conventional machine tools commonly used in the repair and maintenance of industrial equipment.

Credit Hours: 4
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 lecture, 6.0 laboratory
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will learn the basics of metal machining.
  • Students will learn to operate a variety of machine tools used in industry today.
  • Students will learn to program a Computer Numerical Machine Center (CNC).
