REC 1920 - Adventure Experience Practicum for Incoming First Year Students The course uses adventure learning as a means to improve interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and self-efficacy. The course consists of a half-day orientation and a multi-day wilderness expedition. Students will develop wilderness living and travel skills specific to the particular program area in which the practicum is conducted and the form of wilderness travel used during the practicum (e.g., canoeing, kayaking, backpacking, and climbing).
