PAW 1113 - Netball


This course introduces students to the sport of Netball. Netball evolved from the sport of basketball and is widely played internationally. Netball is played using a free standing hoop on a court that is divided into three sections in a 7 vs 7 setting. This course combines face to face physical activity instruction and online academic learning modules in healthful physical activity as it relates to Netball as well as the knowledge and skills necessary to play Netball.

Credit Hours: 1
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 laboratory
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to demonstrate skills and tactics of Netball through active participation.
  • Students will be able to identify and describe rules, history, safety, and etiquette in Netball.
  • Students will be able to identify the components of skill and health-related physical fitness and the relationship to personal health and wellness in Netball.
