PAW 1115 - Futsal


This course introduces students to the sport of Futsal. Futsal originated in Uruguay and is popular in Brazil. Futsal is a 5 vs. 5 version of soccer that is played on a smaller court, with a smaller goal and ball, and different rules. This course combines face to face physical activity instruction and online academic learning modules in healthful physical activity as it relates to Futsal as well as the knowledge and skills necessary to play Futsal.

Credit Hours: 1
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 laboratory
Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I
Learning Outcomes:
  • Students will be able to demonstrate skills and tactics of Futsal through active participation.
  • Students will be able to identify and describe rules, history, safety, and etiquette in Futsal.
  • Students will be able to identify the components of skill and health-related physical fitness and the relationship to personal health and wellness in Futsal.
