TAS 3110 - Diversity, Ethics, and Collaboration


This course covers components of developing healthy relationships particularly in the workplace. The course focuses on developing the individual as an ethical worker, on developing relationships with others to focus on teamwork, and on developing understanding of diversity in order to value the advantage it brings to work and life. In todays culturally diverse world, positive human interactions are key to success.

Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.

Learning Outcomes:
  • Assess personal values, characteristics, and communication style.
  • Be able to recognize group dynamics and their strengths and weaknesses in a given situation.
  • Evaluate the aspects of a group/team that are effective and those that are ineffective.
  • Identify the interactions of peoples characteristics, traits, and communication styles and their impact on work.
  • Make informed decisions about interpersonal relationships based on ethical considerations.
  • Understand others in terms of culture, race, ethnicity, ability, gender, sexual orientation, age, and religion.
