SASM 4010 - Advanced Sport Event Management This course will explore the process of the design and implementation of recreational and sporting events. An in-depth discussion pertaining to the planning, development, management, and implementation of these events. Specific attention will be given to the venue needs, financing, marketing, and various operational aspects of hosting recreational and sporting events. The course may require additional student attendance at events outside of the normal class period.
Requisites: SASM 3760 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to design a proposal for a new sports, recreation or entertainment event.
- Students will be able to conduct an economic impact study for sport, recreation and/or entertainment event.
- Students will be able to develop management or operational plan for a sport, recreation and/or entertainment event.
- Students will be able to assemble a bid proposal for a sporting mega-event.
- Students will be able to plan, execute, and wrap-up a sports, recreation or entertainment event.
