ISE 4140 - Introduction to Operations Research Introduction to basic methods of operations research, modeling methods, linear programming, simplex method, transportation and assignment models, and integer programming.
Requisites: ISE 1100 and MATH 3200 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to apply basic branch-and-bound method on small problems.
- Students will be able to apply the Simplex method.
- Students will be able to describe heuristic search methods.
- Students will be able to distinguish between linear and nonlinear relations in various problems.
- Students will be able to formulate a mathematical programming problem with objective function, constraints and decision variables.
