GEOG 3712 - Geographic Field Methods Introduction to geographic field methods and techniques. Field mapping, data collection, spatial sampling, data analysis, synthesis, and reporting.
Requisites: 1 2000+ level course in GEOG/GEOL/ANTH/PBIO/BIOS/ES Credit Hours: 3 OHIO BRICKS Bridge: Learning and Doing Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture, 2.0 laboratory Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will actively participate in a number of field techniques; assignments emphasize fundamental principles of research design, basic surveying and mapping, and data analysis.
- Students will apply the principles discussed in the course to a small but original research project.
- Students will learn fundamentals of research design and basic surveying.
