ETM 3200 - Hydraulics and Pneumatics Application of hydraulic and pneumatic principles to common industrial uses for power transmission and mechanism control. Includes a study of hardware and circuitry. Lab activities include construction and testing of fluid power circuits.
Requisites: ETM 2210 and advanced standing in ETM Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 2.0 lecture, 2.0 laboratory Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to define the engineering fundamentals of hydraulics systems based on Pascal’s Law.
- Students will be able to describe different components of hydraulic systems by their features, functions, and operation principles.
- Students will be able to differentiate among different models within the same hydraulic component group.
- Students will be able to solve design problems in hydraulic applications by applying knowledge of mathematical formulas and hydraulic components.
- Students will be able to professionally express technical topics orally, in writing, and graphically (using technical graphics) both as individuals and in a team setting.
- Students will be able to solve technical problems using empirical and analytical methods.
