EDRE 5010 - Introduction to Educational Research Methods


The purpose of this course is for students to learn about and utilize one of the different research methodologies and methods often employed in educational research, assessment and evaluation. Students learn how to critically evaluate research literature, conduct a literature review, address ethics, form research questions, choose research designs and methods, utilize data collection and analysis, and disseminate research. Hence, students learn about the different approaches to educational research including quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research. Finally, students learn about the different theories, methods, research designs, and analytical tools utilized in these different methodological frameworks.

Requisites: Graduate Status
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 6.0 hours.
