Practicum in pedagogical methods for geology teaching assistants.

Learning Outcomes:

Develop methods of helping students to find their weak points so as to move past those factors that limit their intellectual growth.
Establish an effective style of communicating with students in laboratory sections of geology classes. Learn to go beyond simply waiting for them to ask questions.
Learn what is appropriate and professional behavior both in and out of the classroom. Know the university policies on harassment.
Work with the supervising faculty member and classmates to develop effective methods of classroom presentation in laboratory sections of geology courses.
