ME 5960 - Experimental Methods in Design Investigation and evaluation of experimental methods that may be used to obtain design and performance data. Probability, statistics, and principles of design of experiments (DOE) with application to thermo-mechanical experiments.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to design and set up an experiment to study thermal and/or mechanical variables.
- Students will be able to use DOE principles to evaluate experimental results.
- Students will be able to use probability and statistics to determine experimental uncertainty.
- Students will be able to use statistical tools to evaluate experimental data.
