NRSE 6230 - Advanced Pharmacology Focuses on pharmacotherapeutics across the lifespan with emphasis on clinical decision making by advanced practice nurses. Laws governing prescriptive authority and privileges of advanced practice nurses are addressed.
Requisites: NRSE 6210 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May be repeated for a maximum of 6.0 hours. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to evaluate clinical pharmacotherapeutics/pharmacokinetic principles for advanced level of application and utilization.
- Students will be able to explain characteristics of the law governing the prescriptive authority of advanced practice nurses in specified states.
- Students will be able to explain the appropriate pharmacotherapy for a specific client and client’s pathophysiological problem(s) across the lifespan.
- Students will be able to apply principles of the use of drugs and therapeutic devices in the prevention of illness and maintenance of health.
