SOC 6200 - Social Policy This course examines the use of sociological analysis in the formation and implementation of social policy.
Requisites: Graduate Standing Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 seminar Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,CR,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will describe the role of class, race, and gender in the development and implementation of social policy.
- Students will describe the social, cultural, economic, and political forces that influence the development of policy in the U.S. and abroad.
- Students will identify how sociological theories and concepts can be used to analyze social policy.
- Students will understand how social science research methods can be used to evaluate social policies and their effects.
