COMM 5014 - Diversity, Ethics, and Social Responsibility in Communication Seminar In this seminar students begin to consider the ethical, cultural, and societal consequences of creating and delivering messages to various publics. It examines the impact of those messages on various groups and introduces the concept of socially responsible communication.
Requisites: Credit Hours: 1 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 1.0 seminar Grades: Eligible Grades: F,CR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to discuss the concept of implicit bias and explore their own implicit biases.
- Students will be able to identify and apply key ethical values and guidelines to communication decision making.
- Students will be able to identify the elements of effective socially responsible communication.
