NRSE 7230 - Advanced Health Assessment for Advanced Practice Nursing Focuses on theoretical and evidence-based clinical principles for advanced health assessment for APRNs using a body systems approach. Emphasis is on acquisition of advanced skills to perform comprehensive and episodic health assessment. Includes culturally competent patient education, health promotion and clinical prevention related to risk factors for the individual or family.

Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to examine the role of the advanced practice nurse in advanced health assessment including physical, psycho-social, developmental, spiritual and cultural aspects.
- Students will be able to analyze findings to differentiate between normal findings, variation of normal findings and signs of pathology to formulate actual and differential diagnoses.
- Students will be able to integrate advanced scientific knowledge and clinical reasoning to guide decision making.
- Students will be able to identify health risks and management strategies to mitigate adverse health-related events.
- Students will be able to incorporate evidence-based health promotion, maintenance and restoration of health into a plan of care.
- Students will be able to demonstrate systematic and accurate documentation of history and physical examination findings using information and communication technology to support interdisciplinary communication and care.
- Students will be able to model ethical and professional behaviors in practice and delivery of health care.
