ART 3620 - Interior Architecture Supportive Environments Studio This course emphasizes the use of design strategies addressing user’s physiological, informational, and social needs to create supportive environmental designs. This includes investigations in how building form, materiality and human factors affect designed space composition. In creating supportive environmental designs, investigations include research, programming, analysis, theory, ideation and conceptualization, schematic design, project evaluation, refinement, materials, finishes, detailing, furnishings, lighting, communication graphics, and formal presentation.
Requisites: ART 2600 Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 laboratory, 2.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to demonstrate space planning techniques through the design process.
- Students will be able to develop and execute research evidence-based design solutions.
- Students will be able to develop supportive design solutions to address the health, safety, and welfare of building occupants.
- Students will be able to define and apply terminology and language needed to communicate with allied design and construction disciplines.
