JPC 2500 - Introduction to Japanese Culture Introduction to cultural traditions of Japan and its language. English translations are used.

Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - ¿Students will be able to identify characteristics pertaining to Japanese society (its history, politics, everyday life, kinship, taboos vs. accepted behavior, religion, gender expectations, etc.) in relation to their own culture.
- Students will be able to recognize and weigh multiple perspectives regarding cultural behavior and decision-making patterns important to members of Japanese culture in relation to others.
- Students will be able to apply their growing knowledge about Japanese language and culture to unfamiliar scenarios to construct a working non-judgmental interpretation of that situation.
- Students will be able to ask complex questions about Japanese culture and articulate answers to reflect multiple cultural characteristics.
