LAT 2110 - Intermediate Latin I This course continues the emphasis on reading skills developed in the first year. Coursework involves reading numerous prose excerpts from a variety of authors; content primarily focuses on Roman historical prose as well as some poetry.
Requisites: LAT 1120 or 2-3 years H S Latin Credit Hours: 3 General Education Code (students who entered prior to Fall 2021-22): 2HL Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to analyze complex grammatical concepts and Latin morphology, and define a wider Latin vocabulary.
- Students will be able to translate Latin into English and compose in Latin with greater accuracy.
- Students will be able to analyze selected political and cultural aspects of ancient Roman society.
- Students will be able to identify the main genres and authors of Latin poetry and prose.
