POLS 1010 - Introduction to US Politics
This course examines the nature of American democracy, citizen participation, principles of government and political institutions within context of US domestic politics.

Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to describe core theories and concepts in United States politics within the context of foundational origins of American political system and constitutional development.
- Students will be able to apply scholarly analyses and data to evaluate political trends and patterns in the United States.
- Students will be able to explain the nature of participatory democracy and civic engagement and its importance to an informed citizenry in American society.
- Students will be able to analyze political research and the influence of identity politics.
- Students will be able to explain primary terminology, concepts, and findings of US (American) politics as a discipline.
- Students will be able to explain the primary quantitative and qualitative research methods used in the study of US politics.
- Students will be able to explain the primary ethical issues raised in the study of US politics.
- Students will be able to explain the range of relevant information sources in the study of US politics.
