RUS 1110 - Elementary Russian I Introduction to alphabet, reading, writing, and basic grammar, development of speaking and comprehension skills. Beginning course of first-year sequence.
Requisites: WARNING: No credit for this course if taken after the following: RUS 1120 or course in RUS above 2000 Credit Hours: 4 General Education Code (students who entered prior to Fall 2021-22): 2CP Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts. Lecture/Lab Hours: 4.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Exhibits culturally appropriate behavior in common social contexts and demonstrates a general understanding and appreciation of the language-specific cultures and peoples.
- Produces basic spoken language and written texts relating experiences and personal opinions on those topics in the past, present and future.
- The successful student: understands and interprets the meaning and structures of elementary spoken language and written texts exploring such topics as family, housing, food, technology, the environment, etc.
