SW 4801 - Social Work Practice I


The first of two senior social work practice courses; focuses on the basic concepts and skills of generalist social work at the micro and mezzo levels. Introduces and guides students through the initial stages of practice evaluation used for analyzing the level of goal attainment and the effectiveness of interventions. Emphasizes assessment and intervention with individuals, families, and groups. This course has an accompanying social work field experience.

Requisites: Sr and Social Work major (BA6601 or BS6605)
Credit Hours: 3
Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture
