- To be able to appreciate and critique published research on mass communication.
- To be acquainted with basic statistical concepts.
- To become familiar with appropriate scholarly writing format and style.
- To become familiar with the SPSS computer software package and be able to run basic statistical analyses with the software.
- To gain first-hand experience in quantitative research design, data collection, and writing and presentation.
- To understand validity, reliability, and ethical issues in conducting quantitative research on mass communication.
