MALA 5310 - Advanced Malaysian I Culture based approach to increased language proficiency. Students continue to develop listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills as they study diverse history and customs of Malaysian speakers.
Requisites: INDO 5220 or (522 and 523) Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,PR,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - The student should be able to identify different kinds of Malay authentic texts and formats of writing such as news articles, recipes, short stories, novels, songs, photo captions, and etc.
- The student will be able to analyze Malaysian texts for content, meaning, and understanding.
- The student will be able to improve his or her ability in communicating both orally and in writing when using formal and informal Malay.
