POLS 6010 - Seminar in Quantitative Research Methods

This course provides students with a foundation for understanding the use of common quantitative research methods in political science.

Requisites:
Credit Hours: 4
Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken.
Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture

Learning Outcomes:
  • Conduct a variety of statistical tests using appropriate software, and interpret the results of an analysis.
  • Explain the role of empirical research in discipline of political science and its importance in particular subfields.
  • Select the appropriate quantitative techniques to analyze particular data.
  • Summarize and evaluate political science research that uses quantitative methods of analysis.
