SASM 6850 - Introduction to Sport Analytics


This course provides students with the fundamental concepts and tools necessary to understand the emerging role of business analytics for making better decisions to advance sport organizations, both on and off the field. Students explore how leveraging data can create competitive advantage, learn the analytics language, gain experience evaluating data, and gain knowledge regarding contemporary software options. Emphasis is placed on applications, concepts, and introductory level calculations with the use of readily applicable analytics tools.

Requisites: Admission to COB graduate or certificate program or permission
Credit Hours: 3 - 4
