EMGT 6111 - Advanced Six Sigma This course is continuation of the EMGT 6110 - Six Sigma, and covers DMAIC problem-solving methodology in details. Topics covered include tools and techniques for product and process improvement and the application of basic and advanced statistics to problem solving. Emphasis on application of the methodology.
Requisites: EMGT 6110 Credit Hours: 3 Repeat/Retake Information: May not be retaken. Lecture/Lab Hours: 3.0 lecture Grades: Eligible Grades: A-F,WP,WF,WN,FN,AU,I Learning Outcomes: - Students will be able to explain the outcomes for each step of the Six Sigma DMAIC process.
- Students will be able to define the Critical-to-Quality (CTQs) characteristics for a Six Sigma project.
- Students will be able to define appropriate metrics for a Six Sigma project.
- Students will be able to develop a plan to measure the capability of a process.
- Students will be able to apply appropriate statistical methods for analyzing a process.
- Students will be able to identify sources of variation in a process.
- Students will be able to identify methods for reducing the variation in a process.
- Students will be able to create and analyze a full-factorial Design of Experiments.
- Students will be able to describe methods of defect prevention.
- Students will be able to create a process control plan.
