Mission

The department’s mission is education, research and professional service focusing on plants and their environmental interactions. The department’s courses and programs prepare students for careers in a wide range of disciplines, including plant biology, plant pathology, biotechnology, environmental biology, natural resources, conservation, field biology, agronomy, plant breeding, freshwater biology, and cell biology.

Internships
The PBIO Department offers a diverse program of summer internships, especially designed to give students with advanced plant biology background a comprehensive experience in an area related to their career goals.  Internships are available at institutions throughout Ohio and across the United States.  For information on the internship generally (including how to apply), go to http://www.ohio.edu/plantbio/internships/.

Global Studies
The PBIO Department runs a number of field courses outside of Ohio.
