The M.M. is offered in music theory, composition, and music history and literature. Although each degree program requires a minimum of 45 quarter hours of graduate work, a variety of course offerings enables you to design a program that suits your professional needs.

The M.M. in music theory and the M.M. in music history and literature require 45 credit hours and a written thesis. In addition, students in music history and in music theory are required to demonstrate reading ability in at least one foreign language. The M.M. in composition requires a large scale composition in lieu of the thesis.
