Program Requirements

The Classical Civilization minor requires a minimum of 28 hours of coursework in Classics above the 100 level, including:

A. A minimum of 16 hours of coursework from:

200-level CLAS and CLAR courses (CLAS 227 not eligible), and/or 200-level LAT or GK courses, including one of the following courses in Greek culture:

CLAR 211 - Greek Archaeology Credit Hours: 4
CLAS 252 - Classical Athens Credit Hours: 4

And one of the following courses in Roman culture:

CLAR 212 - Roman Archaeology Credit Hours: 4
CLAS 254 - Rome under the Caesars Credit Hours: 4

B. A minimum of 12 hours from:

300- and 400-level CLAS, CLAR, GK, and/or LAT courses. No knowledge of the Greek or Latin languages is required for the Classical Civilization minor, but upper-level classical language courses can count toward the minor.
