Program Overview
All students enter the School of Art as Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Studio Art majors, and must complete requirements in studio foundations and art history. Students must maintain a minimum accumulative GPA of 2.75 and an in-major GPA of 3.0 to remain in the major. Many students choose to continue with the B.A. in Studio Art degree option because it provides easier access to elective courses and double major opportunities, as well as some off campus study opportunities. The undergraduate program prepares students to work in fields related to art and to undertake graduate work. Classes include foundations and 2000-level studio art courses, art history courses, 3000- and 4000-level studio art courses, a variety of liberal arts courses, and two years of language study.
