Program Overview

The minor in jazz studies is intended for undergraduate music majors who wish to emphasize the study of jazz in addition to their major area of focus.
 

Admissions Information

Freshman/First-Year Admission

Students in this minor have already been admitted as music majors in the School of Music.

Change of Program Policy

Students in this minor have already been admitted as music majors in the School of Music, but must complete paperwork in the College of Fine Arts office to officially declare the minor.

External Transfer Admission

Transfer students desiring admission to this minor must first be accepted into the School of Music in one of its undergraduate programs.
 

Opportunities Upon Graduation

This minor will enable music majors to go on to graduate programs with experience and coursework in jazz at the undergraduate level. Teachers, therapists, and other music majors who go on to professional work will have the background and experience to use jazz with confidence in their professional work.
