Program Overview

The Jewish studies certificate program provides undergraduate students with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge about Jewish history, culture, and literature. The program brings together a number of disciplines (history, classics and world religions, English, Jewish studies, and political science).

Students will take one of three basic courses (in biblical literature or Jewish history) and then a sampling of courses offered in five different areas, with at least one course in four of the five areas.

Freshman/First-Year Admission

No requirements beyond University admission requirements.

Change of Program Policy

To apply for the certificate, a student should go to their college office, ask for an “Application for Update of Program” form, fill it out, including the program code CTJWST, and bring the form to the certificate coordinator.

External Transfer Admission

No requirements beyond University admission requirements.
 

Opportunities Upon Graduation

The graduates with this certificate will have an increased knowledge about Jewish history, culture, and literature.
