Program Overview

The B.S. degree in economics is a program which will focus on a mathematical approach to economics as well as related computational skills and statistical analysis. In the B.S. in economics program, students will obtain the knowledge needed for graduate study or for employment in research positions which use formal mathematical modeling, computational approaches or statistical analysis.

Freshman/First-Year Admission

No requirements beyond University admission requirements but math placement at level 2 or higher is strongly recommended.

Opportunities Upon Graduation

Candidates can pursue careers in the public and private sectors. Estimates of demand for graduates with this training are far above demand for graduates without this training. Careers can include budget analysts, survey researchers, management analysts, operations analysts or careers in academia for graduates who pursue a Ph.D.
