Program Overview
Ohio University has an approved School Nurse Certificate program. The required courses are a combination of courses from nursing, psychology, education, child and family services, and health. Many of the courses are delivered online, but some require attendance in a classroom. Students who are completing the RN-to-BSN program may take these courses while working on the BSN degree.

Freshman/First Year Admission
Change of Program Policy
Individuals seeking to obtain the School Nurse Certificate program need to contact the School of Nursing.
External Transfer Admission
Individuals who hold a baccalaureate degree from another institution can complete the requirement as a postbaccalaureate non-degree seeking student (ND1204). Equivalent transfer courses will be used where applicable.
Opportunities Upon Graduation
Students are eligible to apply for the School Nurse Certificate and work as a school nurse.
