Program Overview

The Screenwriting and Digital Storytelling minor in the School of Media Arts (MDIA) is designed for individuals majoring in other fields who wish, in the course of their college experience, to gain an understanding of digital storytelling techniques, including the process of writing stories for the digital screen (i.e. television, video, or game screen).

Opportunities Upon Graduation

With digital media becoming ubiquitous in our society, the ability to analyze and deliver digital stories will better prepare students for both work and graduate education in a wide variety of fields not only in the entertainment industries, but in other areas such as business and healthcare.

Minor Hours Requirements


The minor in scrennwriting and digital storytelling requires a minimum 18 hours; 9 at the 3000-4000 level.

Completion of the courses with a 2.5 GPA.
