Program Overview

The minor in jazz studies is intended for undergraduates who wish to emphasize the study of jazz in addition to their major area of focus.

Opportunities Upon Graduation

The study of jazz celebrates an art form that is uniquely American. Foundational knowledge of this music can lead to additional opportunities in a variety of disciplines within the arts, but also in other fields that rely on an understanding of improvisation, American history, and working with others as an “ensemble” to achieve a common creative goal.
