Program Overview

The minor in environmental and plant biology is designed for students interested in the plant sciences and those that may find the information obtained useful for their careers or private lives. The flexibility in this program allows it to supplement a major in another discipline such as economics, education, business administration, computer science, anthropology, sociology, geography, geological sciences, or biological sciences.

No requirements beyond University admission requirements.

No requirements beyond University admission requirements.

Opportunities Upon Graduation

This minor could enhance several majors and assist students with careers in small businesses in horticulture, floriculture or agriculture, recreation, lands management, landscape architecture, engineering to name a few or could satisfy personal goals in gardening.

Minor Hours Requirement


The environmental and plant biology minor requires a minimum of 20 hours.

Core Requirements


Complete the following courses.  Note:  Biology courses will not apply to hours and GPA requirements for minor.

Electives


Complete additional courses in PBIO for a total of at least 20 credit hours in PBIO, with a minimum of 6 credit hours at the 3000-level or above.
