Program Overview

The master’s degree program in Educational Leadership involves a minimum of 34 semester hours encompassing the study of the foundations of educational leadership, the nature of school organizations, human relations in educational organizations, and research methods and applications. Additional coursework, specialized study and field experiences are included to prepare the students for varied administrative roles; including: Principal and Teacher Leader (ND 8919).

Through a balanced approach of on-line and in-class instruction, all campus models include a blended format meeting face to face once each month and twice weekly during the academic year and twice weekly for 5-8 weeks each summer, while the remainder of the content is covered in an online format. The program offers course work and internships required for obtaining a master’s degree in educational administration and/or an Ohio principal’s license. Students may choose to pursue only the license or only the master’s degree or they can pursue both the degree and license. Students completing only the master’s degree typically complete the program in 1 year and 8 months; students following the standard program of study for master’s degree with principal licensure requirements complete the program in two years.
