Program Overview
The College of Health Sciences and Professions sponsors the Undergraduate Diabetes Certificate. This program educates and prepares students to better understand the multifaceted and complex condition of diabetes. The program offers a unique opportunity for students to obtain interdisciplinary education and training opportunities as well as service learning, clinical and/or research opportunities guided by experts in diabetes. The need for this program is underscored by the high prevalence of diabetes locally and nationwide, as well as by the vibrant diabetes-related infrastructure currently available at Ohio University.
Students interested in pursuing the diabetes certificate (CTDIAB) can obtain an application form from their college’s student services office. Each academic period on the student’s DARS (Degree Audit Reporting System) Report, students can track their progress in the certificate program. The undergraduate Diabetes Certificate will be awarded upon graduation if the student has successfully completed the requirements and a notation of the certificate will be recorded on the student’s transcript.
